Joki is a being of pure chaos and evil, manipulating everything and everyone around him. There are some who say Joki was born in the ‘Wombs of Hell’ which is why he has a head of fire, which blazes more the angrier he gets or the more insane and chaotic becomes as he almost never loses his iconic smile. Although it appears his constant smile is a mask or makeup, many believe it is his permanent face. Interestingly enough, almost anyone who associates with him ends up dead or missing. Despite this, the most powerful Gods do not fear him and decide to make deals with Joki because of his extensive connections and information network. After the previous God of Death, Adam was ‘killed’ Joki took up the task of gathering the souls of the dead and sending them to Hell or Heaven, leading to people referring to him as ‘The Collector’ and Joki’s organization, ‘The Collection’. Joki, however, often breaks the rules and integrity of his job of collecting souls. Instead Joki never sends souls to Heaven, only to Hell, rarely. What Joki really enjoys doing, is collecting these souls, sending the worthless ones to Hell, but keeping the strong and prominent souls, those who made a noticeable impact in their lifetimes, and either adding them to his ‘Collection’ or selling the souls to the biggest bidders, often being Gilgamesh, Heracles or even the God of War Draco. Joki also becomes one of the main antagonizing forces to the Revels, as Joki can sense those who have seen death, calling them ‘Those who have seen the Nothing’ which is strange because and this includes Wendy. Joki is able to somewhat hypnotize these people by whispering into their ears and turning them over to the Dark Side. Joki is able to do this to Wendy and she joins the ‘Collection’ against what little will she had left, but she loses it all and completely acts as Joki requests. Joki later places the soul of his beloved Persephone inside Wendy which makes subservient but not mindlessly subservient as now she has a personality of a woman in love with and worshipping Loki, the two form a Joker and Harley Quinn dynamic.
