When the Revels arrive at the Traven academy they realize it is a boarding school of magic, where students are classified and placed into dormitories as well as assigned roommates according to their magical aptitude and capabilities. This creates a division between the students who often develop a superiority complex making them look down on students in lower levels than them. This also creates a separation between Damien and the rest of the Revels as his magical power was deemed of the lowest level in the school while most of the revels were placed in respectable classes. There is one area, however, where there is no discrimination. This area is a virtual game world created and programmed by a mysterious student hacker, and also infused with magic to make the game more fantastical, dangerous, and thrilling. Many of the students are in love with this multiplayer battlefield game, and it entrances the boys of the Revels making them want to play. The game can at times, closely resemble actual magical combat between two fully trained mages, however, there are some players who choose to use traditional weapons like swords and guns (such as Damien, Griffon, Roy and Zaine. Roy especially wants to know who was capable of programming such a master piece.) This game is a place where you are not judged by your ability to use and wield magic, but instead, judged by your ability to support your team or win the game, which allows many of the students from the lower levels to show their dominance as they are normally much better players. There is one elusive player, however, who has a high score that has not been beaten in many years. The top score is held by a person named MAE. Everyone is wondering who MAE is but no one has ever met her before. This is also around the time Ava realizes that Athena is not teaching her everything she wants to learn, so Ava decides to invade the forbidden library of the legendary school of magic. Eventually Damien and Ava convince the other revels to come along on this adventure, and as they are exploring the ruins hidden underneath the library they accidentally push a red button which uncovers a large mysterious golden vat with a clear green bubbly fluid. Inside of this fluid they find a girl who appears to have an entire body, made of advanced Bioskin with short fiery red hair and the face of a girl. The red button they had pushed was also a release button which drains the fluid from inside and releases the girl. Roy catches her and the Revels decide to save her as an alarm starts blaring. When they get to a safe point they ask the girl what her name is and she tells them her name is Mae. It turns out Mae was laid to rest many years ago for some odd reason, however, she remained connected to virtual world and lived on through there. Even though she was the top player in the game that the boys are all infatuated with, she decided to abandon that game and play a different game which no one really plays, this is why people rarely see her get on the most popular game. The game she decides to play nowadays is a peaceful low intensity adventure game which she programmed a long time ago, when she was just a young child android living with Queen Athena. A simple game with the premise of exploration of worlds unknown. She plays this game alone and although there is no real danger within the game, there is a haunting feeling of isolation as she wonders if she is alone in this universe she created. This is when she meets the Revels and ultimately joins them to go on real adventures. She becomes especially close with Roy and despite herself having more robotic parts than Roy, including a heart made of Bioskin, she is the perfect counter to his brooding, stoic, robotic nature with her fun loving, high energetic, fiery spirit.
