Gabriel is the most famous and brilliant scientist from a planet close to Verth. His home planet is known as Xeta. Xeta is a planet with a human like species with a few distinctions. The world of Xeta never encountered religion and thus there was never religious destruction and upheaval of scientific discovery and advancement, leading the Xeta to be much more advance than modern humans, not just physically but Xeta’s are vastly superior in mental capacity. A thousand years ago the human like species living on this planet depleted most of their natural resources by excessive deforestation and the expansion of cities. This left the world mostly desert like, with rivers all over as the veins, black cities and sky scrapers, and a winter area at the north pole. Due to the harsh conditions which arise from less forest, the humans who lived on this planet began to evolve by developing a third ‘super chromosome’ known as the Zeta or Z chromosome that would reside along side the normal X and Y chromosomes. The Zeta chromosome would populate the humans brains and blood, providing these humans with more tough, veiny skin with a reddish glow. In the brains, the Zeta chromosome greatly enhances the computational power of the human host, making their brains grow about 10% bigger than normal humans with almost 3 times the total brain power. This is what lead the species on this planet to not be known as humans anymore, but instead they are referred as the Zeta species. Many years later, the greatest scientist on the planet, named Gabriel who has greatly contributed to the modern achievements and culture of the Xeta world. Gabriel, however, discovered that the Zeta chromosomes from another fellow Zeta can be extracted from their bodies and absorbed by the brain of a different Zeta. The scientific board which also is the main center of the world government deems these experiments forbidden as they disrupt the sanctity of a person. They viewed the Zeta within a body as the memories or even the soul of the person and thus should not be disturbed. Gabriel, however, rejected this philosophy as he believed morals should not get in the way of scientific advancements. Gabriel continued to experiment in secret in his private laboratory. At first the simple experiments would be Gabriel extracting the Zeta from deceased citizens. He would use his reputation as a great scientist to persuade the loved ones of the dead to give him the rights to their bodies, claiming he could maybe even ‘save’ them or ‘resurrect’ them if he needed to really convince the families. After time, Gabriel began to ignore his own notes about not ingesting and absorbing too much Zeta, as it began to feel euphoric to Gabriel. He began to inject more and more directly into his own skull, which not only started to affect his thinking, making him overthink to the point where he was convinced he was hearing voices, but the enhanced amounts of Zeta even began to affect his physical appearance, making his pupils permanently dilated and his eyes constantly wide and black and bloodshot. The scientific board that Gabriel was a founding member of, all convened and decided to let Gabriel go as he began to worry and even scare some of them. That night Gabriel went home and drunk himself into a stupor. He was experimenting in his laboratory when he made a shocking discovery: extracting the Zeta from a body and injecting it directly into your own skull would give you an average increase of 1.5% BZC (Blood Zeta Content) but if one wanted to speed this process up even more, they could take the entire brain of a fellow Zeta and ground it up into a medicine which you directly ingest. This would take the average BZC from 1.5% to a 5% increase every time. Gabriel indulged at the thought of ingesting even more Zeta than he was right now and feeling even more powerful. He now needed another Zeta subject. He was about to head out into the night to find a dead body to use, but this is when his wife knocked on the door of his basement laboratory, asking him to come up and spend time with her as he had been distant recently. Gabriel, no matter how much Zeta he had consumed, he loved his wife. He went to be with her and they made love. Later that night, while she slept, Gabriel saw his lovely new experimental idea unfold in his dreams and he got excited and woke up. He had to perform the experiment right now. He looked over at his sleeping wife who was smiling and laying there. Gabriel thought of how she was so beautiful, speaking so gracefully, and with thoughts so brilliant. Beautiful thoughts from a beautiful mind… Her brain would be delicious! A few minutes later, the wife was awakened by a sharp pain. It was a surgical knife cutting across her skull. She screamed and begged her husband to stop but it was too late, Gabriel had lost his mind. He cut her skull open, and she died. Even though she had passed, her brain was still fresh and active. The lab was downstairs, where he could ground up her brain, process the organ and then cleanly inject it, however, Gabriel’s stomach growled, he was too hungry to waste his time on such frivolities. Gabriel then grabbed his wife’s live brain, still warm, bloody and throbbing. Gabriel took a bite, then a chomp and eventually he had consumed the entire brain raw. He felt an instant surge of euphoria as the Zeta flooded into his mind and blood stream. This must be an instant increase of 10%, maybe even more! Gabriel was in pure delight… for a moment… but then he looked down, and came to a shocking realization. Now that he satiated his blood lust, his heart sank. He had brutally murdered and cannibalized his own beautiful wife. The woman he loved dearly and truly the only person who supported him no matter what. Gabriel screamed in agony, what had he done. After a while Gabriel, with tears in his eyes, realized this wasn’t his fault… The scientific board! They rejected his hypotheses, they kicked him out of the scientific board. If they hadn’t done that, Gabriel would have had more test subjects, more bodies. He wouldn’t have had to resort to using his own wife and eating her brain alive! Yes! It was ALL their fault… and now they must pay. Gabriel then put his wife’s body into a garbage bag as he prepared to dispose of her. He took her to one of the rivers in the dead of the night. Right as she floated away on the water, Gabriel tearfully apologized to her pale hollow skin and kissed her on the vacant caved in portion of her skull, where her forehead would have been. I now have your soul within me, my love, and I will carry out our vengeance, on those repugnant scientists, the naysayers and all those who oppose him, the world of Xeta even, if he must. “It is their fault, they rejected my wonderful science, they turned this power that I so graciously offered to them. How dare they… HOW DARE THEY?! Who are they to halt Progress? Do they think themselves to be helping people, the citizens? No, by halting progress they are hampering our potential, limiting our reach of what we are able to dream and accomplish! Do they think themselves to be Gods? Did Gods progress civilization?!” Dark clouds began to form on top of the Sunset Desert. Gabriel clutched sand in his hands and released it back to the Earth as he continued. “Hmph, perhaps at first, religion did serve a just purpose, illuminating the dark ages of mankind with heroic tales and establishing moral guidelines before modern laws and civilization could truly be established, however, after time the purity of the lord became just another means of corruption, the souls of those holy men being blacker than the voids of Hell! As they used title of God, the true fear of our intellectually feeble minds, to drown themselves in all the worlds pleasures as the rest of the world burned. Everyone had a God who was the one true God, the one to be feared above all, how laughable!” The dark clouds now began to rumble and light up. “… But this was not their greatest sin, no, not in the least. Genocide, famine, sickness… these are mere pebbles in the great path of our evolution, but halting progress? As those of the churches and temples did, persecuting those of logic and discovery, those great thinkers who offered evidence and calculations that contradicted the fabricated holy scriptures which held their control for centuries. They burned them. They burned the progress we were supposed to make! And now our Creator angers at us for falling off the great path! The fools! I ask again, did Gods progress civilization?! No! Perhaps soldiers, generals, politicians, artists? No!… Science! Science and the great minds that dwell on the universe around them, Scientists are the true progenitors of advancing civilizations, overcoming nature and all of her wrath. We only seek information for the sake of Progress, and yet, they burn us?! They call us witches and warlocks and they burn us! In doing so, They have severed the great path! HOW DARE THEY?!Lightning begins to strike the desert around Gabriel. “Witches… Warlocks… Gods… he he he… he Ha ha HA HA.” As the last grain of sand falls from his bloodied hands. “I see… We fear those beings that have mastery over the elements, those that have conquered nature, the greatest mother and danger to mere mortals This is why they hate science, why they halt… the Progress… But these sorcerers command and harness these powers to benefit themselves and perhaps even those around them… could they be like scientists… Is this how one becomes, God?The lightning now stops striking down and instead rumbles inside the clouds, brewing for the next storm. Gabriel now stands up. “Very well, mortals. If that is considered power, than I shall claim it. I will further my intellectual advantage until I am a generation ahead of everyone, EVERYONE! Nobody will ever halt my progress! I will continue until I have reached this epitome of understanding… Until everything in this world and all worlds submits to my grasp of reality by the throat! I will use my science, my very being, to become this God whom they have feared for so long! Science allows us to achieve great things after all… Yes, why couldn’t I see this sooner?! Using science, I can become Death incarnate and even tear down the heavens myself! Prepare yourself, Gods! For I am coming… to destroy you!” Right then, a huge purple lightning bolt strikes Gabriel in the middle of the wasteland. This lightning bolt was so large it left the atmosphere of his planet and traveled to a nearby planet. This is when Gabriel had a collision with Garaiya Khan on Verth and they become sworn brothers who assist each other in taking over their respective worlds. Gabriel believes himself now to be the one true God who must cleanse his planet leaving only those who appreciate science. After all, Gabriel’s brain was now infinitely more powerful than theirs. Who better than to rule this world as a divine mind, as a God of Wisdom, than him? Gabriel set off on his journey, unknowing that this would be the beginning of the birth of the new God of Death, as well as a twisted new form of magic being formed, known as blood magic. These factors are why Gabriel, despite being a mortal, became well known and even feared amongst even the Gods as Gabriel would proceed to become the largest mass murderer in all of existence, even killing more than some of the most powerful Gods in the multiverse. What Gabriel did not realize, is that, the night he let his wife’s body float away in the moonlit river, she was not alone. She was pregnant with the child they had conceived earlier that night before the brutality. This fetus, although just a newly fertilized egg, had inherited the enhanced Zeta chromosome from her father who was already regularly overdosing on Zeta. This caused the embryo to develop extremely rapidly, despite even the mother being dead. The Zeta Chromosomes in the blood and water of the mothers womb began to work independently to keep the baby alive. The Zeta absorbed nutrients from the water and life, and even the body of the mother, breaking down her body as she floated down the river. After just 1 month, the body of the mother had completely dissolved and all that was left was a fully developed and birthed, healthy baby girl. The newborn washed up on a distant shore where she was picked up by some kind hearted citizens, thinking she was an orphan who was abandoned. They would raise the girl as their own and she would grow up. The girl was unaware of who her true parents were as she believed her foster parents to be her biological family. The girl also did not know that she had inherited the enhanced Zeta from her father, but only the main positive side effects. The girl did not inherit the truly negative effects of raw brain consumption as that happened after she was already concieved. This girl would grow up always being ahead of her classmates, but always lacking in other specific areas, not letting her fit in, and not letting her understand why she was so different. This girl would grow up and later be known as Ava Gabriel.
